The Princess Bride

The Princess Bride by William Goldman is a 1973 novel about Princess Buttercup who is kidnapped and forced to marry Prince Humperdinck as Westley, her true love, is on a journey to rescue her. 

 

 

 

It was adapted to film with the same name in 1987 and directed by Rob Reiner.     

 

 

 

 

Twilight

The Twilight Saga (Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn) by Stephanie Meyer is a 2005 series of four fantasy/romance novels about a teenage girl named Isabella Swan that falls in love with a vampire named Eward Cullen.

 

 

 

 

 

The first book was adapted to the screen in 2008, and directed by Catherine Hardwicke.

The Vampire Chronicles

The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice is a (1976-2003) series of novels about Lestat de Lioncourt, a French nobleman made into a vampire in the 18th century. The series includes: Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, The Tale of the Body Thief, Memnoch the Devil, The Vampire Armand, Merrick, Blood and Gold, Blackwood Farm, and Blood Canticle.

 

 

Interview With the Vampire was adapted to the screen in 1994, directed by Neil Jordan, and starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, and Kirsten Dunst.
