Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl is a 1964 children's novel that tells the story of Charlie Bucket and his adventures with his Grandpa Joe at Willy Wonka's wonderful chocolate factory.

This 20th century classic was adapted to film in 1971 and titled Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder and directed by Mel Stuart.

Later, in 2005 Johnny Depp played the role of Willy Wonka and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Tim Burton was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Costume Design.
